Weekend crafting

So this card is for the Catch the Bug challenge http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.uk/.  The photo inspiration is below.

I saw an example of this technique and wanted to try it.  I used acrylic paint for texture and then used a dauber to add some ink to better shoe the texture.  I need more practice but this is decent for a first run at it.

This was for another challenge at http://seizethebirthday.blogspot.ca/
I used Glossy Accents to give it a little shine in a few places.

Just for fun using my colored pencils.

Watercoloring etc.

This is a watercolor on canvas.  I am not keen on the butterfly.  I may try to fix that.  I am going to submit this to the challenge at  http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.com/.

This is watercolor with a stencil and I have gotten some good feedback on this from my Instagram friends.  It is kind of cool, it has a texture.  Confession that I smudged it so that is why I added the butterfly. The butterfly is a Hero Arts image.  I am going to submit this over at the The Cat's Pajamas for their current challenge which is BRIGHT colors.

The flower stamp is a So Suzy stamp, one of my favorites.  This is colored with my Marvy Markers and I added a cute sentiment. I am going to submit this over at The Cat's Pajamas, http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.fi/ and Aud Sentiments challenge blog for their current challenge.  You should check it out!

Can You Case It? Challege Blog

I entered three cards into this sketch challenge. You can visit their challenge at http://canyoucaseit.com/ .

I submitted this card yesterday.  I used stamps from two different Stampin Up sets and my Marvy markers.  It came out pretty good.

I am submitting this today.  I used some cardstock from Project Life for the sentiment, which was stamped and then heat embossed with white embossing flower from CTMH.  The flowers are the Chrysanthamum stamp from So Susy Stamps colored in with my Marvy Markers and the centers are embossed with clear embossing powsder to give it a little shine.

This is my third card I am submitting for this challenge.  I sponged on some inks from my stash and found this free digi stamp online.  I colored it with my Marvy markers and cut him out.  I attached him using my ATG and then heat embossed the sentimient which is a Hampton Arts image.

Digital Stamps

Digital Stamps, or digi stamps are digital images printed by the user's printer. Digital stamps come in formats such as PNG, JPG, and TIFF. Digital stamps offer advantages over traditional rubber stamps because you can flip, resize, and rotate them, not to mention easily store them.  They can be printed on a variety of papers and when properly heat sealed can be used with a variety of coloring mediums.

It is important that you understand each website's Angel Policy before using a digital stamp or digital image.  An Angel Policy is a form of limited license that specifies how an image can be used and any specific requirements of the manufacturer or artist. Typically this outlines under what circumstances, if any, a stamper can make and sell items created using their stamps.

Some companies allow stampers to work with the stamped images without restriction including creating products for resale. Other companies offer more limited use of their images, for instance limiting the number of products that can be created from a single stamp. If you don't see an Angel Policy please note that this doesn't allow full freedom in using their stamps.  It likely means that their stamps are sold for personal use only and not for creating items to sell.

How to find great deals on stamps

I recently went to Good Will and spent $80 on stamps.  They are Stampin Up brands, which is really good quality.  They were fairly priced at between $5 and $10 per set depending on the size. My haul that day was easily worth three times the actual value, and they were all brand new.

Yesterday I found some amazing stamps at a yard sale.  Again all brand new Stamp in Up.  They were from a Stampin Up demonstrator who was paring down her stash.

Other great places are Facebook destash pages, there are many to choose from.  The only bummer there us you usually have to pay shipping.

Of course many of the online stamp stores have sales from time to time.  If you follow them on Instagram or Facebook you will know when the sales are on.
